Also known as ‘Ligero Especial’, the Serie V from Oliva cigars is a wonderful Nicaraguan puro chock full of flavor. Thick and smooth as silk, it is an impressive leaf containing a powerful, yet balanced and smooth blend of aged Nicaraguan ligero from the Jalapa Valley of Nicaragua.
The news is, the Serie V from Oliva received a 95-point rating and #3 Cigar of the Year Honors in 2017. But that’s not all – this brand has received almost thirty 90+ ratings in its lifetime.

Oliva Serie V

The Oliva Serie V is creamy and smooth and not overpowering. It is one of the most highly rated cigars out there and a consistant work of art in my opinion. The Serie V in robusto.
The Oliva Serie ‘V” cigar is full-bodied and full-flavored, offering layers of coffee, spice, and tobacco flavors, with a touch of dark, unsweetened chocolate on the finish.

Origin: Nicaragua

Size: 5×54

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Sungrown Habano

Binder/Filler: Nicaraguan

Appearance: This beautiful looking robusto comes dressed in a silky brown wrapper with a few veins and is firmly packed. The robusto size is excellant for this of smoke a 5×54. The band is decorated tastefully and the Oliva name is front and center. The triple cap finishes of the oily sheen.

Smoking Notes:  Some of the signature notes are hints of spice, leather, sweetness, coffee and cedar. The habano sun grown wrapper gives this V a depth of flavor and character. It is just a real smooth cigar and has wonderful aromas, nutty hazelnut and a pepper taste. It’s a nice experience and one worth repeating.

Before the Light up: Hints of wood, earth and cedar with a nice leathery smell and chocolate.

Draw and Burn: The draw off this serie v is very smooth, you get a nice mouthful of smoke, the plumes are wonderful and full. Every puff is delicious, it is consistant. I have never had a bad Oliva. Burn is always sharp and never an issue. It’s slow and steady. The ash is white and holds on quite nice, it is a medium bodied.

Beginning: Tobacco flavor at it’s best. This cigar starts of slowly and smooth. The burn is even, the hints of spice and leather fill the air and the aromas are lingering with notes of chocolate and sweetness.

Middle: you definitely get your moneys worth with this cigar because of the slow burn, and consistency. I think the only con would be that its not to complex but who cares this cigar is burning great, taste wise it’s excellant and Im enjoying it.

Final: My final thoughts are i have never had a bad Oliva, i really like this cigar and will continue to smoke them. It’s smooth, creamy, has that outdoor smell of wood, earthyness, creamy and leather notes. All characteristics i like in cigars and Nicaraguan cigars are my favorite.
