New charred American Oak barrels and finished in ex-Bourbon barrel – Bourbon mash meaning that it would respect the % of corn one can find in a Bourbon (51%) – Blend of 5 cereals
Nose : almonds, caramel, maple, vanilla .
Palate : salted pecans, baking spices, hint of vanilla.
Finish : medium finish with continued spices and sweet almond trailing off. Clean off the palate.
Comments : Given how much Diageo had to work on getting the bourbon label, more time should’ve been put into the recipe; the only notes that even resemble a Bourbon are the caramel and vanilla on the nose. Crown Royal has better selections…this one unfortunately is being placed as a mixer.
